4 DVD SET: THE WAR FOR LEBANON (2001) * with switchable English subtitles *

IF ORDERED IN PLASTIC CASES, THE ENTIRE COLLECTION COMES IN ONE CASE, WHICH HOLDS MULTIPLE DVDs:

This 4-DVD set discusses the intranational conflicts in Lebanon since its founding in 1943 as an independent state and how these internal conflicts led Lebanon to fall into a spiral of violence amongst its own people and with their neighbors. If you are fascinated by Middle Eastern and/or Lebanese history, then this set is for you. This 15-part series is in Arabic with English subtitles. Overall comprehensive, the subtitles are, from time to time, ludicrously pompous and incoherent, but anyone with a general knowledge on the subject or who is mildly good at deciphering puzzles will understand readily what the editor is trying to say.

Overall, very good quality production, though we could use a little less interviews and a little more historical footage. Still, quite worthwhile.

692 minutes long (over 11 hours!). Very good quality.

Region Free (can play in any DVD player).

DVD-Rs ARE IN ARABIC WITH ENGLISH SUBTITLES.

PLEASE NOTE THAT SWITCHABLE (SOFT) SUBTITLES WILL NOT SHOW UP WHEN VIEWING THE SAMPLE BELOW. IF YOU SEE SUBTITLES, THEN THEY ARE HARD-ENCODED (meaning, they cannot be turned off when viewing the film):
