The story in this film is loosely based on the actual diaries of Jewish settlers in the Galilee circa 1920. In a heavy hand, it talks about the trials and tribulations of emigrants to Palestine after the First World War and their interpersonal relationships. The climax of the film comes when the settlers come under Bedouin attack, who, for some weird reason, consider the land the strangers have plopped down onto not to be "unsettled".
