The nephew of a rich and noble gentleman has been sentenced to three months in prison for a false signature on a check. When it is time to hand himself over to justice, he is replaced by a mining engineer, a studious and penniless man, who for a few thousand-lire notes, almost against his will, offers himself to sit in jail for the nephew. The rich uncle, who does not know the nephew personally, takes pity on him and, when his sentence is up, takes him into his home and promises to create a future for him. But the guest is the engineer, while the real nephew, who had taken the engineer's name, is fished out of the countryside by a brother-in-law of the nobleman who has read one of his books and wants to consult him on certain oil issues. An idyll is woven between the supposed nephew and one of his cousins; while the supposed engineer concocts a lucrative scam.

The lower-class, yet educated, Atulya "Bhoothnath" Chakraborty arrives in colonial Calcutta looking for work. Along with his brother-in-law, he lives in the haveli of the Choudhury Zamindar family. Bhoothnath meets Subinay, a dedicated member of the religious sect Brahmo Samaj, and is employed at the factory Mohini Sindoor. Subinay's daughter Jaba hears their conversation and is amused by Bhoothnath, whom she considers an unsophisticated, rural dweller. Bhoothnath becomes fascinated with the goings-on in the haveli and every night, he observes the Choudhury brothers' decadent lifestyle. One night, Bansi, another servant of the haveli, takes Bhoothnath to meet the younger Zamindar's wife, Chhoti Bahu, who implores him to bring her sindoor.

A shocked and devastated Asha finds out that Rajan's death has killed her dad, and she throws herself into her work as a doctor, working side by side with Prakash. After three years, Rajan's mom asks both Prakash and Asha to get married.
Raghunath, a wealthy district judge, who believes that "good people are born to good people, and criminals are born to criminals", convicts Jagga, son of a criminal, of rape on thin evidence. Jagga later escapes and kidnaps the judge's wife, Leela, for revenge. When Jagga finds out that Leela has just become pregnant, he releases her after four days and changes his plan. However, people suspect Leela of adultery and Raghunath throws her out of their house, rejecting her pleas that the child is his. Leela gives birth to Raj on the streets, and they both live in poverty. Raj befriends Rita in school. He is removed from the school rolls while trying to maintain a job as a shoeshiner, and Rita moves to another city. Jagga convinces Raj to steal, in order to save his starving mother. Raj grows into a skilled criminal, going in and out of jail, and works for Jagga's gang. Leela thinks that he is a businessman. Raj never forgets Rita, keeping her birth picture at his home.

Erich from Berlin and Lily from Paris talk constantly with one another because of their telephone operating jobs and are so fond of each other, that they agree to meet in Paris. Unfortunately, the rendezvous is thwarted by their colleagues: When Erich is prevented from reaching their meeting point at the appointed time, he sends his colleague Max to meet Lily; and Lily s colleague, Annette, pretends to be Lily and goes to meet Erich. Deutsch-franz sischer Film ber Flirts zwischen zwei deutschen Telefonisten und zwei franz sischen Telefonistinnen: Erich aus Berlin und Lily aus Paris telefonieren beruflich h ufig miteinander und sind einander so sympathisch, dass sie sich in Paris verabreden. Das Rendezvous wird aber von ihren Kollegen vereitelt: Als Erich zum verabredeten Zeitpunkt verhindert ist, trifft sich an seiner Stelle sein Kollege Max mit Lily, und Lilys Kollegin Annette gibt sich f r Lily aus und trifft Erich.
'So, You Don't Know Korff Yet?' is a low-budget comedy, made in Germany during the Third Reich era, but largely free of Nazi agitprop. It's an amusing film, with an interesting depiction of Hollywood-style gangsters as imagined by Germans. Vermeylen is a wealthy Dutch art collector, who lives in Amsterdam with his pretty daughter Dortje. Three crooks conspire to steal one of his paintings. The crooks are played by German actors but are apparently meant to be American gangsters (Morton and Kelly) with a French toff (DuFour) as their leader. Kelly is played by the great German actor Fritz Rasp, who must have felt he was slumming in this movie. These 'gangsters' are utterly unrealistic, but no more so than some of the gangster characters in Hollywood films of this era. Into this umlaut-fest arrives Niels Korff, one of those implausible fictional characters who could never exist in real life. Korff is a hugely successful author of detective novels who amuses himself as a flautist, but who acquires material for his novels by working (in real life) as an amateur detective! Korff takes it upon himself to save the Vermeylens and their painting. He is aided in this endeavour by two bumbling private detectives: van Gaalen and Schimmelpennick (the latter's name is funnier than her performance). Ohne es zu ahnen, schwebt Niels Korff, ein Autor erfolgreicher Kriminalromane, in Lebensgefahr. Ganz zuf llig hat er n mlich in seinen Werken die Taten des amerikanischen Verbrecherduos Dufour & Morton haargenau geschildert. Das passt den beiden nat rlich berhaupt nicht, weswegen sie nach Amsterdam reisen, um den Schriftsteller zum Schweigen zu bringen.Gleichzeitig bereitet sich der menschenscheue Musiker Niels Korff auf ein Konzertengagement im Amsterdamer "Trocadero" vor, das ihm von einem Vertrauten der zwei Gangster vermittelt wurde und in Wahrheit seine Todesfalle werden soll. Aber nicht nur auf Korff haben es Dufour & Morton abgesehen. Sie wollen die Gelegenheit nutzen, ein wertvolles Rubensgem lde aus der Villa des verm genden Vermeylen zu stehlen. Kelly, ein weiterer Handlanger der beiden, nimmt zu diesem Zweck eine Stelle bei Vermeylen an. Zu allem Ungl ck wendet sich Vermeylens Tochter Dortje, die Kelly nicht traut, ausgerechnet an Morton um Hilfe. Die Lage spitzt sich zu, als die Mordanschl ge gegen Korff allesamt wie durch ein Wunder danebengehen. Dann locken die Gauner den Schriftsteller in Vermeylens Villa ...

A journalist, who'd rather spend his life being a poet, meets a doctor during the latter's lecture series, "School for Marital Happiness". The doctor manages to cast a spell on him under the pretext of making him a famous writer. He then leaves his young wife and little daughter, but soon realizes how the doctor's critical influence is weighing on him and that maybe he's not cut out to be a novelist after all. Bald merkt er, wie ihn der kritische Einfluss der rztin belastet und dass er doch nicht zum Romanautor taugt.
Lieschen Mueller auditions for the Viennese Ice Revue, because she wants more than anything else to become a figure skater. The revue, however, is in dire straits: business is bad and the creditors are at the door and demanding their money. And just as the wolves are howling at the door, the Hungarian star Ilona Karoly is unable to skate in the revue! That's when Lieschen, who can't get anywhere with her unknown name, sees her chance: She decides to "adopt" the famous Hungarian's name and sneak her way into the revue. Too bad for her that on opening night, the real Karoly shows up and is accompanied by the revue's top creditor. The latter is determined to reveal the fraud and ruin the show. Now, only the real Karoly can save the day.

Da sieht Lieschen M ller, der klar ist, dass sie mit ihrem Namen nichts werden kann, ihre Chance: Unter dem Namen des echten Stars schleicht sie sich in die Show ein. Am Premierenabend allerdings taucht das Original in Begleitung von Gl ubiger Liebling auf. Dieser will den Schwindel aufdecken und damit die Revue ruinieren. Jetzt kann nur noch der Star selbst die verzwackte Situation retten.

After a quarrel with his employer, the Archbishop of Salzburg, Hieronymus von Colloredo, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart leaves on a trip to Paris in 1777 accompanied by his mother. While on the journey, Mozart successfully begs his mother to make a stopover in Mannheim, so he can visit Aloisia Weber, in whom he fell in love not long before. For her part, Aloisia gets a job at the Royal Court by introducing a piece by Mozart. Reluctantly, Mozart continues his trip to Paris. But the success he enjoyed in Paris as a Miracle Child is long past. On top of that, his mother ends up dying there. And so, Mozart returns to Salzburg. A few years later, he moves to Vienna. After some professional setbacks --- at this time, Mozart was holding his head above water by giving music lessons --- his friends appeal to the court musician von Strack to intercede on Mozart s behalf.

DER PAUKER (1958): The teacher Dr. Seidel is transferred from his quiet little town to the big city, where he is assigned to a class of delinquents. The young hooligans don't make this strict authoritarian's work easy - his old-fashioned teaching methods are of little use here. But Seidel gradually begins to question his strict, over-moral principles. He takes lessons from his neighbor Freddy Blei in order to be able to defend himself against a particularly violent kid, and he slowly finds the right way to deal with the students, especially when they repair an old car together. Eventually the hardened fronts soften, the hooligans learn to appreciate him, and Dr. Seidel becomes an understanding teacher.

Schlie lich weichen die verh rteten Fronten auf, die Rowdys lernen ihn sch tzen und aus dem Pauker Dr. Seidel wird ein verst ndnisvoller Lehrer
