NOTHING BUT TIME (Rien que les heures) (1926):

A city: we know it's Paris by its monuments, but it could be anywhere; the lives of the poor are the same. We see a streetwalker, a woman who sells newspapers, a sailor, a landlady, an old woman, a shop keeper, and others. The camera shows us derelicts and the unemployed. As the clock shows passing time, people arrive for work, shops and restaurants open, butchers carry animal carcasses. After work, it's time for pleasure and relaxation, but after Midnight, danger awaits. So do possibilities.

DVD-R has French intertitles with hard-encoded English subtitles. Approx. 46 mins. See film sample for audio and video quality!

NOTE: this film has a blurred-out timer in the middle of the frames, which isn't too intrusive. See film sample!
