The film opens with the very familiar landscape of Kazimierz Dolny, unchanged over all these years (with the exception, that its very large Jewish populace is no longer there).  Arye and his young daughter Itke are impoverished, itinerant musicians.  In a bid to remain unmolested, Itke is posing as a young boy and calls herself "Yidl".  The two join up with street musicians Isaac and Froim and it isn't long before Yidl falls in love with Froim.  Unfortunately, she must keep up with her disguise and thus cannot let Froim know about her feelings.  When the beautiful singer Tiebele joins the group and starts getting friendly with Froim, Yidl is consumed with jealousy.

DVD-R is in Yiddish with hard-encoded English subtitles.  Approx. 88 mins.

PLEASE NOTE THAT SWITCHABLE (SOFT) SUBTITLES WILL NOT SHOW UP WHEN VIEWING THE SAMPLE BELOW.  IF YOU SEE SUBTITLES, THEN THEY ARE HARD-ENCODED (meaning, they cannot be turned off when viewing the film):
