Mr. Rapp’s a big fan of Castle Rauhenegg (Raw Egg?!?): One can always rest comfortably; have complete security; and the relaxation the castle offers is always uninterrupted and far from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. And Mr. Haldenzwang is thrilled to hear the praise: he’d be more than happy to unload the lump of raw egg stones to Rapp for a mere 300,000 Marks. The deal is as good as done, when the negotiations are suddenly interrupted: no, Freddie Krueger doesn’t show up with a chain saw; but three men mysteriously show up at a late hour … and they haven’t even brought popcorn with them for the late show! Rapp’s step-daughter, Irene, and the housekeeper are very happy about this little diversion (and if you checked out Rapp and Haldenzwang’s bodies, you’d know why). The lord of the castle finds the situation just a tad strange, however. Nevertheless, the three strange men are welcomed in the castle. At such a late hour, the conversation naturally turns to spooky events and stories about stupid people letting strangers named “Manson” into their homes (yes, DO leave the kitchen knives sitting around on the counter!). Axel Westhaus, one of the young men, is insistent in his claim that Castle Raw Egg is haunted (by salmonella, no doubt). Haldenzwang is horrified that these bedtime stories will scare off Rapp and his 300,000 Marks. He intends to prove the castle is NOT haunted. Each of the three young men are to spend the night in the gray room, the “haunted room”, of the castle to prove there ain’t no such thing as ghosts. So imagine everyone’s surprise, especially Irene and the three young men, when the guys and Irene disappear from the gray room. Does evil really haunt the castle? Did they all come down with salmonella? Did Rapp really spend 300,000 Marks on raw eggs and open a Denny’s?

Behagliche Ruhe, völlige Sicherheit und ungestörte Entspannung fernab allen Trubels – Herr Rapp wird nicht müde, die Vorzüge des Schlosses Rauhenegg anzupreisen. Aus gutem Grund, denn immerhin will ihm Herr Haldenzwang das Gemäuer für stolze 300.000 Mark abkaufen. Das Geschäft ist schon so gut wie abgeschlossen, da werden die Verhandlungen jäh unterbrochen: Zu später Stunde tauchen unter mysteriösen Umständen drei junge Männer auf dem Schloss auf. Rapps Stieftochter Irene und seine Hausdame sind zwar sehr erfreut über die kleine Abwechslung, aber dem Hausherr selbst kommt die Sache seltsam vor. Dennoch werden die drei Männer als Gäste willkommen geheißen. Zu vorgerückter Nachtstunde fällt das Gesprächsthema der illustren Gesellschaft auf gruselige Begebenheiten. Axel Westhaus, einer der jungen Leute, behauptet steif und fest, dass es bekanntlich auf Schloss Rauhenegg spuke. Um seinen potenziellen Käufer Haldenzwang nicht zu verschrecken, will Rapp das Gegenteil beweisen. Jeder der drei jungen Männer soll eine Nacht im grauen Salon, dem "Spuksalon" des Schlosses verbringen. Doch der Schock ist groß, als alle drei Herren und auch Irene über Nacht spurlos aus dem grauen Salon verschwinden! Sollten tatsächlich böse Geister umgehen auf Schloss Rauhenegg?
