One Saturday night, two young men meet by chance on the banks of the River Seine. Both have the same objective in mind: chasing skirt. Freddy, a decorator, claims to be experienced with women and knows how to seduce them. Joseph, a bank employee, dreams of getting married and starting a family. They decide to hunt as a pair and go off to find the women of their dreams (or, at least, the woman for tonight). At the Invalides, they meet flirty Denise, who's clearly looking for a one-night stand. In St. Germain-des-pres, they get lucky with Dadou and Sylviane, but they quickly lose interest, when they realize the girls only want someone to buy them alcohol. Will the two men ever get what they're after?
