Three sailors and the most beautiful girl in their homeport: The sailors Willy and Heini visit a dance hall while on shore leave in Warnemunde. On the first evening, charming Willy dances with blond Ilse and brags about his success, although Ilse ultimately told him to take a hike. On the second evening, Heini --- who is inexperienced in matters of love, but an eager learner --- has more luck and even manages to get Ilse to give him her photo. The two friends get into a fight and a rift develops between them. But when, during maneuvers, gets into severe trouble, Willy comes to his rescue and both men become friends again. In the meantime, Ilse has become bored with both and is now casting her rod out to catch the shy boatmate Hannes.

Drei Seeleute und das schönste Mädchen in ihrem Heimathafen: Auf Landgang in Warnemünde besuchen die Matrosen Willy und Heini ein Tanzlokal. Am ersten Abend tanzt der charmante Willy mit der blonden Ilse und prahlt mit seinem Erfolg, obwohl Ilse ihn letztlich abweist. Am zweiten Abend hat der in Liebesdingen unerfahrenere aber lernbegierige Heini mehr Glück und bekommt von Ilse sogar ihre Fotografie geschenkt. Die beiden Freunde geraten in Streit, es kommt zum Zerwürfnis. Aber als Heini bei einem Manöver ihres Schiffes in Gefahr gerät, sorgt Willy für seine Rettung, und die beiden Männer werden wieder Freunde. Nur die schöne Ilse hat sich inzwischen den schüchternen Maat Hannes geangelt.
