Karl-Heinrich, Erbprinz von Sachsen-Karlsburg, wird zum Studium nach Heidelberg geschickt. Der Prinz erlebt eine ausgelassene Zeit. Er verliebt sich in Käthi, die Tochter seiner Wirtsleute. Doch das Glück währt nicht lange: Karl-Heinrichs Vater erkrankt und so muss er heimkehren und seine Geliebte zurück lassen.

Karl-Heinrich, the hereditary prince of Saxon-Karlsburg, is sent off to study in Heidelberg.  While there, he has a rollicking time.  He falls in love with Kathi, the daughter of the innkeeper.  Unfortunately, happiness doesn’t last for very long:  Karl-Heinrich’s father gets sick and so, Karl must return home and leave his love behind.
