Erich Kastner not only wrote the book and script for this film, he also plays himself in the movie and is the narrator!  In the film the children of a boarding school and a neighboring public school come up with the craziest pranks to wipe each other out. When, one day, the public school children steal the notebooks belonging to the students at the boarding school --- and kidnap one of them --- things really get out of hand for all involved.

Die Tertianer eines Internats und die Realschüler einer benachbarten Schule denken sich die verrücktesten Streiche aus, nur um den jeweils anderen gehörig eins auszuwischen. Als die Realschüler sich eines Tages erdreisten, die Aufsatzhefte der Gymnasiasten zu stehlen, gerät der Schultag erst so richtig aus den Fugen.
