ON THE RAILWAY (1960) * with hard-encoded English subtitles *

In the Autumn of 1950, when North Korea was retreating after the unsuccessful attempt to unify the country, locomotive engineer Ko In Ho tries to evacuate precious machinery and equipment, when he's barred from going farther north because the railway bridge is wrecked in a bombing. In Ho stays in the UN-controlled area, where he's obliged to drive the enemy’s trains. His position is very difficult, as he's constantly watched by the enemy, who doesn't fully trust him. It also doesn't help that he's looked upon with hatred by his former colleagues, who think he's betrayed them and is now aiding the enemy. Meanwhile, In Ho secretly tries to establish contact with the Communist underground, which is operating in the enemy's rear and looks for an opportunity to smuggle his train back to friendly territory.
