Schon das fünfte Mal ist der Millionär Ambrosius Brown in Chicago überfallen worden und wird kurz nach seiner Rettung schon wieder als vermißt gemeldet. In Wirklichkeit jedoch ist er mit seinem Freund Buddy Drops und seinem Diener Washington unterwegs nach Europa. Nach zwanzig Jahren Amerika will er nun seinen Lebensabend auf seinem Besitz in Mecklenburg verbringen. Da meldet die Presse den Fund einer Planke der Yacht „Star of Chicago“. Die Nachricht vom traurigen Ende des Millionärs löst eine wilde Jagd nach dem Erbe aus. Gleichzeitig treffen Brown und Buddy Drops mit ihrer beschädigten Yacht in Bremen ein. Als er erfährt, was die lieben Verwandten vorhaben, beschließt er, ihnen den Spaß gründlich zu verderben.

For the fifth time already, the millionaire Ambrosius Brown from Chicago was attacked and shortly after being rescued, he’s once again reported as missing.  In reality, however, he’s with his friend Buddy Drops and his servant Washington on a tour through Europe.  After spending twenty turbulent years in America, he no wishes to spend the twilight years of his life on his estate in Mecklenburg.  Then the press reports the discovery of a piece of the yacht, the “Star of Chicago”.  The report of the sad end of the millionaire launches a wild hunt for the money he’s left behind.  At the same time, Brown and Buddy arrive in Bremen with the damaged yacht.  When Brown finds out, what his dear relatives have been doing after they think he’s passed on, he decides to thoroughly ruin their day.
