Rolf Simser und das lebenslustige Mannequin Birgit Landauer sind schon seit anderthalb Jahren ein Paar. Doch immer wieder findet er neue Ausreden, um sie nicht seinen Eltern – altmodischen Bauersleuten – vorstellen zu müssen. Er hat schlicht Angst, dass sie das fesche Mädchen aus der Stadt rundweg ablehnen. Birgit hat sein Theater satt und macht sich quasi inkognito auf den Weg nach Thomaskirchen im Salzkammergut, um sich selbst ein Bild zu machen. Justament kommt sie auf dem Simser-Hof an, als die Magd Zenzi dem ewig nörgelnden Bauern kündigt. Birgit verdingt sich als neue Hilfskraft, was nicht nur auf dem Hof für viel Trubel sorgen wird.

Rolf Simser and the fun-loving model Birgit Landauer have been a couple for a year and a half already.  But he’s always finding new excuses not to introduce her to his old-fashioned, peasant parents.  He’s simply afraid they’ll reject the dashing city girl straight away.  Birgit is tired of his high-drama and disguises herself on the way to Thomaskirchen in the Salzkammergut  (that’s not high drama?!), to see what’s up.  She arrives at the Simser farm, where the servant girl Zenzi introduces her to the crusty old farmers.  Birgit introduces herself as new help for the farm, which ends up causing chaos for more than just these grumpy old peasants.
