For the young director Christian Bauer is one thing perfectly clear: after a hard day of work he wants nothing to do with the theatre world. And his future wife is expected to limit her interests to the kitchen and the kids. So imagine his shock when his fiancee Annemarie tels him, that she wants to be an actress and appear in a new play. The palns for marriage fall apart and Christian ends up marrying her twin, Rosemarie ... a homely woman with a lovely nature. The two have a pleasant honeymoon until his former fiancee shows up and the old passion awakens in him.

Für den jungen Regisseur Christian Bauer steht eines fest: nach getaner Arbeit will er von der Welt des Theaters nichts mehr hören und sehen. Auch die künftige Frau an seiner Seite sollte ihr Interesse auf Küche und Kinder beschränken. Da trifft es ihn wie ein Blitz, als seine Verlobte Annemarie ihm am Polterabend eröffnet, dass sie Schauspielerin werden will und in seinem neuen Stück auftreten wird. Die Hochzeit platzt, und kurzerhand heiratet Christian ihre Zwillingsschwester Rosemarie, ein häusliches, liebevolles Wesen. Die beiden verbringen harmonische Flitterwochen bis seine Verflossene auftaucht und alte Leidenschaften in ihm erweckt.

I think the script writers may have watched more than a few American movies, because this story could very easily have come from MGM, Warner, Universal or Fox.
