Dritter Teil der Mabuse-Reihe der 1960er Jahre: Professor Erasmus hat ein Gerät erfunden, das unsichtbar macht. Nach einem Unfall schrecklich entstellt, liebt er heimlich die schöne Tänzerin Liane Martin, die als Höhepunkt der Vorstellung in einem Varietétheater allabendlich von der Theaterguillotine geköpft wird. Das Genie des Verbrechens, Dr. Mabuse will sich in den Besitz von Erasmus' Apparat setzen und entführt Liane. Kommissar Brahm vom Sonderdezernat für Staatssicherheit fordert zur Unterstützung den amerikanischen Agenten Joe Como an. Auch er verliebt sich in Liane. Er kann verhindern, dass sie von der Guillotine wirklich geköpft wird und Mabuse mit einer Bande Unsichtbarer einen Anschlag verübt. Mabuse wird wahnsinnig. Fortsetzung folgt.

The third part of the Mabuse series of the 1960s:  Professor Erasmus has invented a machine, which makes one invisible.  After suffering a horrible accident, which leaves him seriously disfigured, he secretly falls in love with the dancer Liane Martin, who, as a highpoint of a cabaret performance, is decapitated every evening in the theatre’s guillotine.  The criminal genius Dr. Mabuse very much wants Erasmus’ invention and thus kidnaps Liane.  Inspector Brahm from the special department for State Security calls in American agent Joe Como for help.  He, too, is in love with Liane.  But will he be able to prevent Mabuse from really cutting off the dancer’s head with an honest-to-God real guillotine?!?
