The colonial entrepreneur Pierre Dugard gets to know the pretty dancer Aimee Ferrand throught his friend Edgar Simon at an art auction. When Simon discovers that Dugard is looking for investors in his business, he takes him to a party being held for the banker Lemonier. But there’s something Simon hasn’t mentioned: Lemonier is the husband of Dugard’s former lover Renee. When the two meet at this party, the surprise is great, indeed.

Auf einer Kunstauktion lernt der Kolonialunternehmer Pierre Dugard durch seinen Freund Edgar Simon die hübsche Tänzerin Aimée Ferrand kennen. Als Simon erfährt, dass Dugard auf der Suche nach Geldgebern für sein Unternehmen ist, nimmt er ihn auf eine Feier des Bankiers Lemonier mit. Was Simon allerdings verschweigt: Lemonier ist der Gatte von Dugards früherer Geliebter Renée. Als die beiden auf dem Fest zusammentreffen, ist die Überraschung groß.
