A spectacular break-in into the villa of the film star Marion Milner! Luckily, none of her valuable jewelry has been robbed, but rather only an imitation. The police suspect the notorious master thief "Silver Jim", whom they've been tracking for a long time, but can't seem to catch, even though the "master thief" is too stupid to tell a gem from a piece of glass. The theft couldn't have happened at a better time for the film producer Otto Pitt, for he is making a criminal drama at the moment and is counting on the additional advertising generated by the heist.

Spektakulärer Einbruch in die Villa des Filmstars Marion Milner! Geraubt wird zum Glück nicht ihr wertvoller Schmuck, sondern nur eine Imitation. Als Täter vermutet die Polizei den berüchtigten Meisterdieb "Silver-Jim", dem sie schon lange auf die Spur zu kommen versucht. Dem Filmproduzenten Otto Pitt kommt der Schmuckdiebstahl gerade recht, denn er dreht einen großen Kriminalfilm, für den er sich zusätzliche Reklame erhofft.
