No Hitler youth. No Nazi uniforms. A non-political, country school with young children, who are not members of the Hitler Youth. Hans Moser is either a counselor or a teacher or both. His daughter and his son in law are sending their only son to this country school and camp. Some of the teachers are eccentric . One has a fish and a pet bird and treats them like children; another has a cactus and treats it like a human being. The boy students get real mischievous. One trims the cactus. The teacher gets mad when she catches him and chases him around the room until Moser comes in and stops her, causing a lot of shtick. One other boy picks apples for one of the teachers but takes a bite of one of them before he puts it on the table. Hans plays with one of the students with a train set. To say it's a comedy not to be taken seriously is rather an understatement.

The cheeky boy grows on the poor man's heart and together, they'll go through thick and thin.

Two of them make the acquaintance of a frivolous young baron. One of them shoots at him while enraged, but is let go by the court. This is a cliché film with young, trashy girls, interspersed with folk humor. It was the last film to be produced in Austria before the Wehrmacht marched in to execute the Anschluss.
Vier elternlose Freundinnen ziehen nach dem Abitur, unterstützt vom Hausmeister ihrer Schule, gemeinsam in eine Wohnung und suchen Arbeit, um ihr Studium finanzieren zu können. Zwei machen die Bekanntschaft eines leichtfertigen jungen Barons. Eine schießt in ihrer Empörung auf ihn, wird jedoch vor Gericht freigesprochen. Karl Geschwandtner, a porter in a large hotel, has only one wish: one day, he'd like to be the lord and master, as the saying goes: to be the porter and 'ruler' in the hotel. And luck helps him to temporarily fulfill his dream. But Karl doesn't just take over running the hotel, he feels the need to stick his nose in the life of his hotel guests, too. There are couples, who don't want to be put together or apart. When a valuable jewel goes missing, he plays detective and only succeeds in helping the thief to rob the hotel guests at his leisure. Pretty soon, chaos reigns at the hotel; there's massive confusion. Even the newspaper seller, Wally, whom Karl secretly loves, is slowly starting to mistrust him. When the director of "Hotel Europa" finally returns, he throws Karl out, who thereupon simply rents a room as a guest. Now he's successful in unmasking the hotel thief, who once again tries to make a foray. The other victims revert back to their proper "roles"; peace returns to the hotel. Karl hangs up the cloak of masterdom on its nail forever and gladly returns back to being a porter, happy to once more have Wally at his side.

Da werden Paare, die es gar nicht wollen, auseinander und zusammen gebracht. Als kostbare Schmuckstücke verschwinden, spielt er Detektiv und verhilft damit dem Hoteldieb erst dazu, die Gäste in aller Ruhe auszurauben. Bald steht das ganze Hotel Kopf, es herrscht ein wildes Durcheinander. Sogar die Zeitungsverkäuferin Wally, die Karl heimlich liebt, wird langsam misstrauisch. Als endlich der Direktor den Schauplatz "Hotel Europa" wieder betritt, wirft er Karl kurzerhand hinaus, worauf sich dieser einfach als Gast wieder einmietet. Nun gelingt es ihm, den Hoteldieb, der noch einmal einen Beutezug machen will, zu enttarnen. Auch die übrigen Opfer finden zu ihren richtigen "Rollen" zurück, es kehrt wieder Ruhe ein. Karl hängt den Portiersposten für immer an den Nagel und wird als Lohndiener glücklich mit seiner Wally.

A custodian for the children is proclaimed by the authorities, furniture dealer Kaltenbach. His associate Weigel has watched Hedwig in the theater and wants Kaltenbach to introduce him to her. From there, a complex but often funny plot develops, involving two similar packages, divorce negotiations, a little courtroom drama and even an act in Moabit prison.

Knox owns half of the Circus Saran and acts as a clown there. He hides his circus life from his daughter and is very embarrassed when his daughter finds out his true profession. Hans Moser, who plays Knox, performs poorly, because the character he plays is simply not funny. Leo Slezak, who owns the other half of the circus, as well as Pat and Patachon perform better. The only really good thing about this film is its music, composed by Robert Stolz; especially the song "Ein bisschen Sing-Sang und gute Kameradschaft" , which can be heard throughout the movie.

Family Brandt has lost its fortune in oil speculation, and they have great debts at the local bank. This one is threatened with its own crash due to lack of money. The only hope is Brandt's uncle Thomas Hoffman, an American millionaire, who is coming for a visit. Bank Accountant Schmidt uses his own money to welcome him properly, presenting himself as Brandt's daughter's fiance, but it turns out, that Hoffmann never was a millionaire, in fact he still owns the city of Chicago about $100 for medical treatment. Yet with his existance alone he starts a big scheme to bring back prosperity. Surprisingly it works, yet there are some problems: FIRST - Chicago wants the money back, asking at the foreign office in Berlin for help, and SECOND - Hoffmann does not like the scheme at all, and tries to go back to his quiet and peaceful Chicago
Heinz Schmidt ist ein einfacher Bankangestellter im von der Weltwirtschaftskrise geschüttelten Deutschland von 1931. Die Bank des kleinen Städtchens Groditzkirchen steht wie viele Bankunternehmen kurz vor der Pleite. Als der Unternehmer Brandt ebenfalls durch Spekulationen in die Krise gerät, hat Schmidt einen Einfall. Er macht aus dem armen Thomas Hoffmann einen reichen Onkel aus Amerika. Fortan wird Hoffmann von der Obrigkeit hofiert. Über diesen Schwindel kommt Schmidt der hübschen Käthe Brandt näher, die eine Nichte von Hoffmann ist. Als Schmidt auch noch einen Ölboom inszeniert, verlieren die Familie Brandt wie auch alle übrigen vollends den Blick für die Realität. Selbst als der Schwindel auffliegt, verlangen sie von Schmidt, dass er das Spiel weiter aufrechterhält, da Groditzkirchen mittlerweile von überall her Kredite erhält und sich so zu einer boomenden Stadt entwickelt hat.

The performances to watch are Clara Tabody's and Hans Moser's. She is an excellent and athletic dancer, not lacking in acting talent and beauty; but she only made five or six films, and nothing after 1948; why did her career finish then? Austrian Hans Moser plays the hotel receptionist in his inimitable style; he was 62 when the film was made, with 70 films already behind him. He went on for another twenty-odd years, always playing amiable but eccentric parts.

The violinist Johann Schrammel composes Viennese songs, but lets them gather dust in their portfolio. His brother, Josef Schrammel, also a musician, discovers them and secretly wants to publish them. He's not able to find a publisher, who'll do it, but ends up publishing them himself with the help of his friend, Strohmayer. The songs become a hit; but Johann is mightily pissed at his brother for his initiative.
Der Geiger Johann Schrammel schreibt Wiener Lieder, lässt sie aber in seiner Schublade verstauben. Sein Bruder Josef Schrammel, ebenfalls Musiker, entdeckt sie und will sie heimlich öffentlich machen. Einen Verleger findet er nicht, doch mit seinem Freund Strohmayer zusammen bringt er sie selbst zur Aufführung. Die Lieder werden zu Gassenhauern; Johann nimmt ihm seine eigenmächtige Initiative dennoch übel.

With the help of his famous “streusel cake” he succeeds in luring all kinds of helpers for this endeavor into his house. But Nelly has entirely different plans: she is in love with the chimney sweep Heinz, the son of a neighbor, with whom Papa Streussler has been fighting for years. So it’s no wonder then, that the grump confectioner is doing everything he can to break up the relationship.

The Viennese operetta films promoted a "feeling of Austria" in the times of Nazi rule, which very much contrasted the Hitler Germany dominated by Prussia. During the Vienna Congress, the north German Count Wolkersheim is bored to tears as Prussian diplomat in the Habsburg court and smears the city's beloved walzes as "senseless garbage", which leads to a fight with his wife, Melanie. He's taught otherwise pretty soon and falls for the charming dancer, Liesl. The unexpected return of his wife is confused with the dancer at the court ball.
Der Wiener Operettenfilm schlechthin propagierte in Zeiten der NS-Herrrschaft das "Österreichtum" durchaus in Opposition zum preußisch geprägten Hitler-Deutschland. Während des Wiener Kongresses weilt der norddeutsche Graf Wolkersheim als Diplomat vor Ort und schmäht den beliebten Walzer als "sinnloses Gehopse", worüber er mit seiner Frau Melanie in Streit gerät. Schon bald wird er eines besseren belehrt und verfällt obendrein der charmanten Tänzerin Liesl. Seine unerwartet zurückgekehrte Gattin wird auf dem Hofball mit dieser verwechselt.
