Nach seiner Rückkehr widmete sich Otto Schulz-Kampfhenkelder medialen Verwertung seiner Abenteuer. Sein Expeditionsbericht "Rätsel der Urwaldhölle" erschien 1938 als Buch, die Ufa lancierte seinen gleichnamigen 90-minütigen "Großfilm deutscher Forschung", der wochenlang in Kinos von Flensburg bis München lief. Der "Illustrierte Filmkurier" widmete dem Streifen 1938 sogar eine Titelgeschichte.

After returning from abroad, Otto Schulz-Kampfhenkelder dedicated himself to the media exploitation of his adventures.  His expeditionary report, “The Mystery of the Jungle Hell” first appeared as a book in 1938 and the manuscript was promptly snatched up by UfA, which ran a 90-minute “Grand Film of German Research” of the same name and which played in theatres from Flensburg to Munich for weeks.  Even the Illustrierte Filmkurier dedicated a title story to the film that same year.
