It is the Summer of 1936 and the Spanish Civil War has begun. In Madrid, a family of four experiences the difficulties of life in war with their neighbors. The youngest son, Luisito, wants his father to buy him a bicycle, but the war will put this purchase on hold indefinitely.

En el verano de 1936 estalla la Guerra Civil. En la ciudad de Madrid, una familia formada por un matrimonio y sus dos hijos, comparten la cotidianidad de la guerra con la criada y los vecinos del edificio. El hijo menor, Luisito, quiere que su padre le compre una bicicleta, pero la guerra hará que la compra se aplace indefinidamente.
