Prince Michael has a thing for all the pretty women; and especially for the theatre diva Fifi.  Therefore, he's especially unhappy that he's to marry Princess Maria, who looks to him like an ugly duckling.  The princess meets Fifi by chance in a fashion salon and is advised by Fifi how to dress to look more like a swan and less like a duck.  The result?  The princess really does turn out to be a beautiful swan and goes with Fifi to a ball posing as her sister Mimi.  There she meets the prince, who doesn't recognize her and falls in love with her.

Fürst Michael schwärmt für alle schöne Frauen, besonders aber für die Theaterdiva Fifi. Deshalb ist er sehr ungehalten, dass er Prinzessin Maria heiraten soll, die ihm mehr wie ein hässliches Entlein vorkommt. Im Modesalon trifft die Prinzessin zufällig Fifi und lässt sich von ihr modisch beraten. Das Ergebnis: Ein strahlender Schwan ist geboren und geht als angebliche Schwester Fifis, Mimi mit Namen, gemeinsam mit ihr zu einem Ball, auf dem sich der Fürst, der die Prinzessin nicht wiedererkennt, verliebt.

QUALITY (of feature film only): Sharpness of picture?  - soft features with some indistinctness, but quite watchable. A VCR counter has been blurred in the bottom left corner of the film.  Somewhat intrusive, but not enough to ruin the film.
