Vierter Teil der Mabuse-Reihe der 1960er Jahre und Remake des Fritz-Lang-Films von 1933: Obwohl Dr. Mabuse im Irrenhaus verwahrt wird, geschehen wieder Verbrechen, die seine Handschrift tragen. Kommissar Lohmann findet heraus, dass Mabuse im Irrenhaus detaillierte Pläne niederschreibt, die genau den verübten Verbrechen entsprechen. Der Direktor der Anstalt, Professor Polland, ist in Mabuses hypnotischen Bann geraten und setzt die Pläne um, indem er einer Gangsterbande über Lautsprecher Mabuses Befehle mitteilt.

The fourth part of the Mabuse series from the 1960s and a remake of the Fritz Lang film from 1933:  Although Dr. Mabuse is confined to a mental institution, crimes are taking place which bear his unmistakable signature.  Inspector Lohmann discovers, that Mabuse has been writing out detailed plans in the insane asylum, which match exactly the crimes taking place.  The director of the asylum, Professor Polland, has fallen under Mabuse’s spell and is passing on the evil man’s orders via loudspeaker to gangster bands.
