Essential Hans Albers, 6/11/2021 6:41 PM
From: Wolfie
In his book 'Die UFA Stars im Dritten Reich - Frauen für Deutschland', author Friedemann Beyer claims that male characters in German movies of the 1930s and 40s were 'wash rags', dominated by 'strong women'.
Maybe he was confusing this situation with German movies of later decades or maybe he never saw any Hans Albers features.
Using somewhat overly complicated cloak-and-dagger techniques, he-man action hero and flying ace Hans Albers breaks into a shipyard's office, liberates the plans for a floating platform which were drafted by his best friend and thereby draws attention to his friend's brilliant idea.
The platform is built while he is on a round-the-world flight attempt, leaving behind Sybille Schmitz, the daughter of the shipyard's owners.
Somewhat oddly, she suppresses her love for the rogue pilot, falling instead for the designer and dependable captain of the platform, played by Paul Hartmann.
However, sabotage is afoot, shots ring out during an attempted conversation with the Hamburg base and she HAS to find someone to fly her to he middle of the Atlantic to check on her beloved...oh, and the platform......
