Sabine Senden is desperate:  she is hopelessly in love with Willi Ulbrich, her mother’s tenant.  The problem is her mother can’t stand the guy.  She even wants to start a trial against him for defamation, as he reportedly called her a “hooded crow”, after he partied through the night with his friend and deprived mother Senden of her sleep.  Without telling her mother, Sabine and Willi get married secretly long before the lengthy trial is over.  Of course, Sabine can’t introduce her husband to her mother; so instead, she introduces Erich, the fiancée of her friend Ulla, as her husband.   

Sabine Senden ist verzweifelt – sie ist heillos in Willi Ulbrich, den Untermieter ihrer Mutter verliebt: Das Problem ist nur: ihre Mutter mag den Kerl überhaupt nicht. Sie will sogar einen Prozess wegen Beleidigung gegen ihn führen, da er sie angeblich eine "Nebelkrähe" genannt hat, nachdem er mit seinen Freunden die Nächte durchgefeiert und Mutter Senden den Schlaf geraubt hat. Ohne ihrer Mutter etwas davon zu erzählen, heiraten Sabine und Willi heimlich, noch bevor der langwierige Prozess zu Ende ist. Freilich kann Sabine ihren Gatten der Mutter unmöglich vorstellen; deshalb führt sie einfach Erich, den Verlobten ihrer Freundin Ulla, als ihren Ehemann vor.
