A talent scout discovers Gitta, who can sing wonderfully, in a small, Hungarian village.  He takes Gitta back to Germany with him and makes her into an acclaimed cabaret star.  After a dispute with the talent scout, Gitta runs off and gets to know the young composer Peter, who doesn’t know, that she’s a successful singer.  When they aren’t successful in selling a hit to a publisher, which the unknown Peter composed, Gitta returns to the talent scout shortly before a large premier is set to begin, appears as the star, and sings Peter’s song.  Now the two can become a happy and successful artistic couple.

In einem kleinen ungarischen Dorf entdeckt ein Primas das Mädchen Gitta, das wunderschön singen kann. Er nimmt Gitta mit und macht sie zum umjubelten Revuestar. Nach einem Streit mit dem Primas läuft sie davon und lernt den jungen Komponisten Peter kennen, der nicht weiß, dass sie eine erfolgreiche Sängerin ist. Als es ihnen nicht gelingt, einem Verleger einen Schlager zu verkaufen, den der unbekannte Peter komponiert hat, kehrt Gitta kurz vor einer großen Premiere zum Primas zurück, tritt als Star auf und singt als Glanznummer Peters Lied. Jetzt können die Beiden ein glückliches und erfolgreiches Künstlerpaar werden.
