THE WAR IN THE ARCTIC

THE WAR IN THE ARCTIC:

In April 1940, Germany's invasion of Norway brought the world war to the Arctic Circle.  By the winter of 1941, German troops were in full occupation of Norway and quasi-occupation of Finland for the upcoming war against the USSR.  While an almost unknown war in comparison to the overall events of the Second World War, it was nonetheless a very hard existence for everyone involved.  This film uses many up-til-now unpublished photographs and films to bring together the story of the campaigns' planning and carrying out by the Wehrmacht as well as covers the fate of Norwegian and Finnish women who entered into relationships with German soldiers.

102 minutes long.  Film quality varies depending on source material, but overall very good.
