The basic idea is so absurd, that it's almost sublime: An acclaimed revue star disguises herself as a girl, so that her mother can seek out a new, young suitor --- which, of course, requires all the libidinal gimmicks to be rolled out. Good thing there's a second man, otherwise the pedophiles would interfere with all the entertainment! Why Franziska Gaal has to even bother dressing up as a girl is, upon closer inspection, fully irrelevent: Neufeld's plots are in principle simply scaffolding, around which actors have to run to and fro.

Die Grundidee ist so abstrus, dass sie schon wieder fast sublim wirkt: Ein gefeierter Revue-Star verkleidet sich als Mädchen, damit ihre Mutter für den neuen Verehrer jünger wirkt – was natürlich allerhand libidinöses Pipapo mit sich bringt. Nur gut, dass es da noch einen zweiten Mann gibt, sonst bräche die Pädophilie aus im Land der Unterhaltung … Warum sich Franziska Gaal überhaupt als Mädchen verkleiden muss, ist bei näherer Betrachtung eigentlich völlig egal: Plots, das muss man bei Neufeld immer wieder sagen, sind im Prinzip Gerüste, damit die Darsteller was haben, woran sie herumturnen können, nicht mehr und nicht weniger.

· Sharpness of picture? - very soft features and washed out. Unfortunately, it's also incomplete, which can be seen by the film length. The remaining 25 minutes to the film is held by an institution in Austria and they are unlikely to ever release it.
