Auf einer Hochtour lernen sich der Flugzeugkonstrukteur Wolff Benningsen und die schöne Kunsthistorikerin Vika von Demnitz kennen. Sie fühlen sich zueinander hingezogen, doch das überhebliche Auftreten Wolffs stößt Vika ab. Sie beginnt allein mit dem Abstieg. Noch einmal nimmt sie seine Hilfe in Anspruch, aber dann trennt sie sich endgültig von ihm und fährt auf das Bergschloss "Halde", das ihrer Tante Agathe gehört. Benningsen folgt ihr und bringt sie dazu, ihn ihrer Tante vorzustellen.

On a grand tour, the airplane engineer Wolff Benningsen gets to know the pretty art historian, Vika von Demnitz. They feel drawn to one another, but Wolff's overbearing appearance puts Vika off. She begins her descent alone; but soon accepts his help, only for the two to once again part ways, while she heads off to the mountain castle "Halde", which belongs to her aunt Agathe. Benningsen follows her and convinces her to let him introduce her to his aunt.
