Hans Moser, playing the owner of a Viennese grocery store, gets a a letter from his daughter, stating that she’s getting married.  Since he already promised her to another local redneck, he goes down there to try to stop it.  The fact is , she’s already married to a chauffeur and works as a maid for a wealthy family.  Hans thinks she’s married a wealthy man. 

THERE IS A NEWSREEL ALONG WITH THE FILM, JUST AS GERMAN AUDIENCES MIGHT HAVE SEEN WHEN THE MOVIE WAS FIRST SHOWN (except this newsreel may not be contemporary to when the film was released).

Excellent mistaken identity comedy, starring the inimitable Jean Julier ('Hans Moser'). Having two of the most gorgeous women of 1930s and 40s cinema - Dorit Kreysler and Charlott Daudert - assist him doesn't hurt either.
