Princess Derlingen is seeking a suitable bride for her son Wolfgang. And so, for that reason, Wolfgang travels with his guardian to Budapest, where Ilonka, the daughter of the Baroness von Szobody, is being put forth as a suitable marital candidate. But on a steamer on the Danube, Wolfgang falls in love with Steffi, the director of the woman's chorus currently engaged on board. At the end, there will be two couples: Steffi and Wolfgang and Ilonka and Jozsi, the son of a Budapest Csarda-owner.

Die Fürstin Derlingen sucht für ihren Sohn Wolfgang eine vermögende Braut. Wolfgang reist deshalb mit seinem Erzieher nach Budapest, wo Ilonka, die Tochter der Baronin von Szobody, als Heiratskandidatin ausersehen ist. Aber Wolfgang verliebt sich auf einem Donaudampfer in Steffi, die Leiterin der dort engagierten Damenkapelle. Am Schluss finden sich zwei Paare: Steffi und Wolfgang sowie Ilonka und Jozsi, Sohn eines Budapester Csarda-Besitzers.
