The deceased innkeeper Andreas Pfeiffer has indicated in his last will and testament, that his restaurant “The Gold Lion” will be given to that person, who can provide a good education to his 12-year old adopted son Christian. Pfeiffer proposed a number of relatives for the task. In the event that none of them is up to the task, the boy is to be turned over to the chimneysweep Berthold Neumann and the innkeeper Anna, who will continue to run the restaurant.

Der verstorbene Wirt Andreas Pfeiffer hat in seinem Testament vermacht, dass sein Gasthof „Zum goldenen Löwen“ dem gehören soll, der seinem zwölfjährigen Adoptivsohn Christian eine gute Erziehung gibt. Pfeiffer hat eine Reihe von Verwandten vorgeschlagen. Falls keiner von ihnen geeignet ist, soll der Junge bei dem Schornsteinfegermeister Berthold Neumann und der Wirtschafterin Anna aufwachsen, die den Gasthof weiterführen.
