Description

Friedrich Mitterer, the grand, old actor in the Burg Theatre of Vienna, who has achieved everything in his career, which is to be achieved, falls in love with the daughter of a master tailor, the beautiful Leni. Leni, however, is in love with the young and unknown actor Josef Rainer, who would do anything to act just once on the stage of the Burg Theatre. Leni manages to get Rainer an invitation to a reception being thrown by Baroness Seebach, and because of that, gets a small part at the theatre. But that has come with a price: the baroness has fallen in love with him and when the baron finds out about it, he takes Rainer to task, who is then fired from his job at the theatre and threatens to commit suicide. Leni is desperate and in the end, it is Mitterer, who recognizes that Leni and Rainer belong together.

Friedrich Mitterer, der große alte Burgschauspieler, der alles in seinem Beruf erreicht hat, verliebt sich in die Tochter des Schneidermeisters, die hübsche Leni. Die aber liebt den jungen unbekannten Schauspieler Josef Rainer, der alles dafür tun würde, einmal auf der Bühne des Burgtheaters zu stehen. Leni verschafft Rainer eine Einladung zu einem Empfang bei der Baronin Seebach, und er erhält sogar eine kleine Rolle am Burgtheater. Aber die Baronin verliebt sich in ihn, und als ihr Mann davon erfährt, stellt er Rainer zur Rede, dieser wird aus dem Burgtheater entlassen und droht, sich das Leben nehmen. Leni ist verzweifelt, und schließlich ist es Mitterer, der erkennt, dass Leni und Rainer zusammengehören.

Description

A traveling cinema comes to Maritano, a small town in Italy. Tino, a young man, proves to be helpful to the owner of the film show and travels with him throughout the country. The only inn, in which there is an appropriate room to show the film, is named "To Paradise". The innkeeper has a reputation of being a dragon, but much to his surprise, Tino discovers she is the very same young woman, whose acquaintance he made just a few hours earlier. Mirandolina, whose mother is dead, learned a long time ago to run the inn by herself and is a good businesswoman. She rents out the room for the film, for there is a lot going on in Maritano today. Pedro, an old drifter, who is interested only in wine, sells Tino a lottery ticket. When the lottery is drawn that evening, the entire town celebrates Pedro being the winner.

Ein Wanderkino kommt nach Maritano, einem kleinen Ort in Italien. Tino, ein junger Mann, ist dem Besitzer bei der Filmvorführung behilflich und reist mit ihm durch die Lande. Der einzige Gasthof, der einen Saal hat, in dem man die Kinovorführungen machen kann, heißt "Zum Paradies". Die Wirtin hat den Ruf, ein Drachen zu sein, doch mit Überraschung stellt Tino fest, daß es dieselbe junge schöne Frau ist, die er einige Stunden zuvor kennengelernt hat. Mirandolina, deren Mann verstorben ist, hat längst gelernt, den Gasthof allein zu führen, und ist eine gute Geschäftsfrau. Sie vermietet den Saal, denn heute ist in Maritano allerlei los. Pedro, ein alter Herumtreiber, der weiter nichts als Wein im Sinn hat, verkauft Tino ein Lotterielos. Als am Abend tatsächlich dieses Los gezogen wird, feiert das ganze Dorf Pedro als Gewinner.

Description

Der Choral Von Leuthen was actually produced shortly before Hitler in 1933, and, thus, not a propaganda film put out by the Goebbels propaganda machine. The well staged and exciting massive battle scenes are the hallmark of this forgotten epic. Otto Gebuhr was perfect as the soldier-king Frederick II in appearance and he acted the part very convincingly. Anyone familiar with the trials and tribulations of Frederick the Great's campaigns won't be surprised by the storyline. Still, it is entertaining and, unlike later films about the King made in Hitler Germany, pretty historically accurate.

Two brothers, one a dedicated violin builder and the other a just-as-fanatical violin virtuoso, split up over a stolen violin. After a number of years, the sound of a newly built master-instrument leads the two back together. A typical, somewhat lighthearted film so beloved by Dr. Goebbels; especially during the War years -- though, by this time, the only "Klang" most city-dwelling Germans heard at this time was the "Klang" of falling bombs.

	Description
	Elizabeth, the Czarina of Russia, is infuriated by the actions of her lover Ivan Potocki, who has forced her into an alliance with France and out of jealousy has surrounded her exclusively with older officers. Elizabeth therefore orders that handsome, young men are to be brought to her court. Her lady-in-waiting recommends an ensign by the name of Alexander Tomsky, whom she herself would like to get to know. Alexander is arrested by Potocki; but due to a misunderstanding, the rumour makes the rounds that he is the new lover of the Czarina. Thus, Alexander is set free and just in time to save the Czarina from an attempt on her life, which Potocki had planned in the meantime. Elisabeth, die Zarin von Russland, ist erbost über ihren Geliebten Iwan Potozky, der sie drängt, ein Bündnis mit Frankreich einzugehen, und sie aus Eifersucht ausschließlich mit älteren Offizieren umgeben hat. Elisabeth befiehlt daher, hübsche junge Männer heranzuschaffen. Ihre Hofdame Irena empfiehlt einen Fähnrich namens Alexander Tomsky, den sie selbst näher kennen lernen möchte. Alexander wird zwar von Potozky verhaftet, doch aufgrund eines Missverständnisses verbreitet sich das Gerücht, er sei der neue Geliebte der Zarin. Description

Grandison, an English justice-of-the-peace in an Irish district, is married to Gloria, an Irish woman. She often knows how to help her countrymen with advice and deed. Grandison, however, with his love of a life of luxury, not only has put the family deep in debt, but is now dependent on others. And he's not above doing dirty deeds. After many years in exile, Sir John Ennis returns to Ireland. He is a man who has always fought for the rights of his people. Back at home, he runs into old friends from his clan. Grandison, however, hates his guts, because Ennis has a thing for his wife. Now he thinks Ennis might be the perfect patsy (or is that "patty") for the crimes Grandison has committed.

Grandison, englischer Friedensrichter in einem irischen Bezirk, ist mit Gloria, einer Irin, verheiratet. Sie weiß ihren Landsleuten oft mit Rat und Tat zu helfen. Director Burckhardt is found shot just after making the moves on Gisela Ostercamp, the wife of a business colleague. When the criminal investigator Haupt inspects items in the apartment of the dead man, he comes to the conclusiong that Gisela herself is the murderess and accusations start flying between the married couple. The murdered man's brother, the lawyer Burckhardt, steps up to act as defense counsel for the woman, with whom he has learned to love in the meantime.

Direktor Burckhardt wird, nachdem er der Gattin seines Geschäftsfreundes, Gisela Ostercamp, den Hof gemacht hat, erschossen aufgefunden. Als Kriminalkommissar Haupt in der Wohnung des Toten Gegenstände Giselas findet, hält er sie für die Mörderin, und es kommt zum Zerwürfnis zwischen den Eheleuten. Der Bruder des Ermordeten, Rechtsanwalt Burckhardt, tritt als Verteidiger der Frau, die er inzwischen lieben gelernt hat.
