DER ZINKER (1931):

This is the first German filming of the play based on the novel by Edgar Wallace, which differs in regards to the identity of the perpetrator: Who is the “squeaker”? This is something that not only Scotland Yard is asking, but all of the London underworld. His secret identity is forcing the crooks to put a bounty on his head. Whoever doesn’t play as he wishes gets ratted out to the cops. And whoever stands in his way, he eliminates without a second thought. Inspector Elford of Scotland Yard has to be very careful not to be distracted, for everyone is a suspect!
