Love, jealousy and murder! These are the ingredients a film crew wishes to use to create a melodrama. An especially dramatic scene has just been shot, in which two rivals face one another, furious, and ready for anything. One of these female rivals pulls a revolver – a shot rings out; the other rival drops to the ground. The director shouts “cut!”, but the “shot woman” doesn’t stand up again. She is really dead!

Liebe, Eifersucht und Mord! Das sind die Zutaten, aus denen eine Filmcrew ein aufregendes Melodram machen will. Gerade wird eine besonders dramatische Szene gedreht, in der zwei Rivalinnen einander gegenüberstehen, wutentbrannt, zu allem entschlossen. Eine der Frauen zieht einen Revolver – ein Schuss ertönt, ihre Nebenbuhlerin sinkt getroffen zu Boden. "Schnitt!", ruft der Regisseur, aber die "Erschossene" steht nicht wieder auf. Sie ist wirklich tot!
