It's Italy in the time of the Renaissance. The fortress of the Duke of Lombardy sits under heavy siege. When the Duke is killed in the heavy fighting, his wife Catarina flees with her son Giovanni in the mountains. But Giovanni is not going to let the story end with the loss of his mother's fortress. Another Trenker classic.

DVD-R IS IN GERMAN WITH SWITCHABLE ENGLISH SUBTITLES. APPROX. 97 MINS. COMBINED TOTAL. EXCELLENT FILM QUALITY.

ordered due to being a fan of luis trenker... this film is a mixed review... cinematography is excellent and musical score ok but the sound track is not the best... there is constant static/hissing sound throughput the film .... tooo bad this could not have been eliminated somehow... it is a distraction.... there are a few great scenes.... along with a silly song called 'maria; which is sung by someone sent by luis trenker to try nd find her somewhere ????? the highlight to me was when trenker travels to Rome and is deterinmed to meet the Pope and defend his actions after being excommunicated.... a breathetakingly beautiful moment in the film.. hope this review helps.... and is fair.....
