BANOVIC STRAHINJA - THE FALCON (1981) * with switchable English subtitles *

It is 1388, shortly before Serbia's catastrophic defeat at Kosovo. While the respected Serbian noble Strahinja Banovic is out hunting, a Turkish renegade gang burns his castle, kills all of his servants, and takes the young wife of Banovic Strahinja.  Strahinja begins a long quest to rescue his wife despite everybody else's doubts in her fidelity.  Strahinja gathers a posse of scoundrels and goes after the bandits.  In the meantime, the Turkish bandit Alija tries to seduce Strahinja's wife Andja, but she refuses him.  However, over a period of time she begins to weaken.

Overall, the film's quality is very good (in a "VHS" sense).  The print has some defects, however; especially with "dropouts", where, in some scenes, it looks like it's raining snow.  Luckily, that does not characterize most of the film.  Like in the time the movie's subject takes place, the scenes themselves are often very brutal and violent.  Take note!

DVD-R IS IN SERBO-CROATIAN WITH OPTIONAL ENGLISH SUBTITLES.  APPROXIMATELY 97 MINUTES.

REGION FREE  (WILL PLAY IN ANY DVD PLAYER).
